{HMW} How to Cook without a recipe: a live workshop Monday August 31st πŸ‘©β€πŸ³

Dear Reader,

I'm thrilled to invite you to join us in the Just One More Bite community to a special live food and cooking event! This will be the first of many more live events and workshops hosted right in our heartbeat community.

In this upcoming workshop on Monday, August 31st at noon eastern Katerina Pavlakis, a.k.a the Intuitive Cook, will show you the hidden structure behind everyday cooking and share a simple 3-layer framework to help you turn whatever ingredients you have into a meal.

Once you understand the repeatable pattern, cooking becomes easier to navigate, easier to adapt, and much less dependent on recipes. In the second part we'll cook a simple tasty meal live, taking you through the thinking process as we go along.

Because understanding the thinking behind the cooking frees you from depending on recipes.

This event is free but you must be a free or paid member of the community to RSVP. So go ahead and register and RSVP and get on the list!

Ingredient Spotlight:

Psyllium Husk

The first time I encountered psyllium husk, it was hiding in a mini muffin my mom made me. She made them in bulk, froze them and had them for breakfast and snacks. She swears by them for fullness, heart health, and keeping things regular. When she listed the ingredients, there was only one I had never heard of.....psyllium husk.

What it's like:
On its own, psyllium husk is a pale, almost flaky powder with barely any taste. It absorbs liquid and turns gel-like, which is exactly why it works so well in baking: it holds moisture, adds structure, and keeps things from falling apart. Stir it into a smoothie and give it a minute; you'll feel the texture shift as it thickens.

Psyllium husk is almost entirely soluble fiber, which is part of why it's such a popular add-in for people trying to feel fuller longer or support regularity. It's also been studied for its role in heart health, specifically for helping manage cholesterol.
