{HMW} How to advocate for your specific needs at a restaurant (Thursday, 1pm ET)

Dear Reader,

This Thursday at 1pm ET, I'm sitting down with Dr Elayne Daniels on Substack to talk about why restaurants can be so overwhelming for sensitive people and some best practices to support your sensitive nervous system while eating out!

From pre-deciding your order to knowing when to call ahead to how to advocate for your specific sensory and food needs, we’ll cover it all.

Come with your own restaurant struggles and questions. We'll be live and taking questions!

I hope you'll join us!

Ingredient Spotlight:

Melon

I love the lattice texture on cantaloupe rinds, the juiciness of watermelon, and the sweetness of a good honeydew. Melons are one of earth's natural delights. And those three are just the melons we're most familiar with. Between native varieties and all kinds of inbreeding, including our beloved seedless watermelons, there are hundreds of varieties of melon.

Melons belong to the gourd family, Cucurbitaceae, alongside cucumber and squash. Depending on the color, melons carry different phytonutrients and antioxidants that make them beneficial to our health. In addition to being a very hydrating food, they also offer soluble fiber and are high in vitamin C, which makes them especially good for immunity.

Announcements & Upcoming:

The Crush it at Work and School Summit

Instead of bracing yourself for another overwhelming back-to-school season, imagine stepping into fall with more clarity, more energy, and systems that actually support the way your brain works.

That's exactly what you'll discover at the FREE Crush It at Work and School Summit, happening August 31-September 3.

During this four-day virtual event, you'll learn practical, proven strategies to:

β€’ Reduce mental clutter and focus on what deserves your attention most...
β€’ Increase your energy, motivation, and productivity without burning out...
β€’ Build routines, systems, and habits that actually work...and stick.

The summit is hosted by my friend and colleague, Alan P. Brown, ADHD productivity coach and creator of the award-winning ADD Crusherβ„’ program.

Think of it as your ADHD success team for the season ahead.

Across four days, Alan will release five concise, solution-packed interviews each day, and you'll have 24 hours to watch each day's sessions for free, whenever it fits your schedule.

The What's for Dinner Summit

My favorite part of this summit? It's not built around a perfect system you're supposed to follow. It's built around real weeks -- the ones where the plan falls apart by Tuesday. So when my session goes live, I'm not just teaching, I'm in the chat with you!

Wanna talk dinner struggles? Picky kids? Weeks that don't cooperate? Let's do it.
