{HMW} Gentle Hunger vs. Urgent Hunger — Do You Know the Difference?
|
Dear Reader, Do you ever feel a low-grade panic the moment hunger shows up? Like it needs to be handled right now, before it gets worse? Most of us have been conditioned (by diet culture, by past restriction, by one too many hangry experiences) to treat hunger like an alarm that needs to be shut off immediately. But here's something worth sitting with: hunger is information, not necessarily an emergency. Your body is doing exactly what it's supposed to do. And when you can start to tell the difference between "I could eat" and "I need to eat right now," something genuinely shifts in how you relate to food. This week I did a deep dive into all of this on my private podcast, Consciously Eaten — and for this week only, the episode is open to everyone, paid and free subscribers alike. Calendula petals have a subtle, earthy bitterness that plays well in salads. And chamomile? Soft, apple-like, and lovely steeped into things.
