{HMW} A satiety signal that has nothing to do with fullness

Dear Reader,

Your nervous system starts shifting from "still hungry" to "we're good" before you physically feel full. And your breathing is usually the first place it shows up.

I call it the satisfaction sigh. Once you start noticing it, it becomes one of the most reliable "am I done?" signals you have β€” more useful than the empty plate or the mental I probably should stop.

Try this at your next meal: around the halfway point, just check in with your breathing.

Has it shifted?

Have you taken a slightly deeper breath without thinking about it?

When you catch it, pause for a second: do I want more, or was that actually enough?

That one pause can change a lot.

Ingredient Spotlight:

Labneh

Have you ever wanted cream cheese but wished it tasted a little more interesting? Meet labneh.

Labneh is basically yogurt that's been strained until it gets thick and spreadable β€” somewhere between Greek yogurt and cream cheese, but tangier than both. It's been a staple in Middle Eastern kitchens forever, and honestly, it deserves a permanent spot in the rest of our fridges too.

You can find it at Whole Foods, Middle Eastern markets, or even some regular grocery stores now. Scoop it into a bowl, drizzle it with good olive oil, hit it with some za'atar or everything bagel seasoning, and serve it with pita or crackers. Done. It also works beautifully as a base for grain bowls, a swap for sour cream, or dolloped onto roasted vegetables.

Nutrition-wise, it's a solid source of protein and probiotics β€” gut-friendly and genuinely satisfying in a way that keeps you full without any drama about it.
