{HMW} 43% of what you do today will happen on autopilot. π«

Dear Reader, I read a book last month that estimates about 43 percent of what we do each day happens on autopilot. That includes a lot of breakfasts, a lot of instinctively reaching for the phone, and a good share of what ends up on our plates in general. The author, Wendy Wood, spent years studying habit and is an expert in the field of human behavior and habit formation. One of the things she describes in her book really interested me. People who seem to have an easy time with their habits tend to have fewer moments in their day that call for a decision. They set up their surroundings so the choice they wanted to make was already the closest one. That matches what I saw as a clinical health educator, where the research kept pointing to βto-doβ behaviors outlasting βnot-to-doβ ones. With that in mind... tell me.
